The Preamble Foundation- a renowned charity based organization that advocates for the access to education by all in northern Ghana, on Monday 15th July 2019, made a donation of relief item and books worth over GHC 10000 to Sedarvp Ghana.
The items donated included three boxes of novels and 1 box of children story books, three boxes of used clothes for adults and children, blankets and some other educational materials. The donation was part of The Preamble’s effort efforts towards supporting the fulfilment of Sedarvp’s Ghana Community outreach activities and Street Library project in the northern Region.
Presenting the items to Sedarvp Ghana on behalf of the Preamble Foundation, Alhaji Amuda-The Founder of The Preamble Foundation, thanked the team at Sedarvp Ghana for the warm welcome accorded him and said that Preamble Foundation aims at changing the misconception about education as being only a tool for getting a job. He added that: ‘it is important for people to know that education is and should be a basic necessity of the life of every person. It is the pleasure of The Preamble Foundation to donate the items, especially the books to support the street library project of Sedarvp Ghana as the reading culture amongst young people is declining, we believe street library project is one of the ways we can ignite the reading spirit once more.’
According to Alhaji Amuda, this donation is not the end but the beginning of many of its kind as relationship between the two organizations has grown stronger in achieving common goals.
Receiving the donated items on behalf of Sedarvp Ghana, the PRO of Sedarvp, Ms. Beidaw Mikashini expressed her profound gratitude to the Preamble Foundation and its founder, for the kind gesture and assured them that items received will be put in to good use to benefit the target group and to also create positive change. She added that it was great that organizations like The Preamble Foundation are realizing the importance of the street library Project in promoting reading culture among the youth and for that matter the show of support towards the project. She ended by encouraging both organizations to keep working towards enhancing the quality of education through reading.
Also present to witness this donation were Mohammed Andani, Ibrahim, and Diawudeen, all executive members of Sedarvp Ghana.
