It will recall that barely two weeks ago, Nawuni and Afa Yili communities were inundated with water following the spillage of Bagri Dam in Burkina Faso. And in the spirit of volunteerism, Sedarvp-Ghana called for donation of relief items from individuals and organizations. The call was generously heeded by many well-meaning individuals as well as NACPaCC and LK International Company. The donations were jointly presented to the people of Nawuni by the partners involved. Sedarvp-Ghana was led by its Founder and Executive Director, Mr. Shaibu Abukari Niendow. NACPaCC on the other hand was led by its Founder and Executive Director, Mr. Mahama Saani while the Motorking Company was led by its Marketing Manager Mohammed Nurideen in donating the items.

Mr. Mahama Saani, the Executive Director of NACPaCC lauded Sedarvp-Ghana for the initiative and took time to explain the activities of his organization. He challenged everyone to endeavor to plant trees in their homes while equally reducing or doing away with the felling of trees. He said “When the last tree dies, the last man dies”. On the issue of peace building, he maintained that giving comfort to the people of Nawuni is enough a means to promoting peace as a discomfort society can easily explode and lead to further destruction of lives and property.

The Marketing Manager of LK International Company, Mr. Mohammed Nurideen also thanked Sedarvp-Ghana for reaching out to them for this well-meaning effort towards ameliorating the suffering of the flood victims. He explained that as a responsible company, it was a great opportunity to come to the aid of the flood victims by providing 300 Polo and T-Shirts. He said his company was ready to leverage the people of Nawuni and Ayili communities should they need to buy any of their products which include tricycles, rice threshers, incubators, bush cutters, drip irrigation system and so on.

The Assemble Member for Nawuni electoral area, Mr. Alhassna Yussif greatly appreciated the kind gesture of the three organizations and called on like-minded individuals and organizations to come to the aid of his people by providing construction materials since many houses in Nawuni and Afa Yili were pulled down by the flood.
