Education is a powerful driver of development and is one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality, peace and stability.” — The World Bank

Children in poverty need educational assistance.
Sponsoring a child is a wonderful way to help change the life of a child in need and bring hope to his or her entire community. By becoming a sponsor you will provide desperately needed opportunities to children with incredible potential. In addition, you will be making a personal investment, building a relationship with your beneficiary and his or her family, and joining a family of “life-givers” around the world who share your commitment to change the world, one child at a time.
The impact even small donations can make to a child and his or her family in the communities in which we operate is enormous. The average cost to send one child to school (fees, uniforms, books, school supplies, etc,) ages 5 to 12 is only $100, and around $200 for ages 13 to 18. For many families in Ghana, where the average household income is less than $1.50 a day, these expenses can be overwhelming, leading to kids starting school later in their lives and/or dropping out of school completely.
The world’s future leaders are today’s children and youth, and Ghana is not an exception. Many families and schools in Ghana do not have the needed resources to ensure that the children are able to attend school and graduate, as well as receive a quality education. We are reinforcing and boosting education by providing the badly-needed supporting structure and resources. This includes the provision of scholarships, uniforms, and school supplies.

How does sponsorship work?
Together, we provide children with the tools they need to step confidently into the future. When you make either a one-time gift or recurring monthly gift your contributions are pooled with that of other sponsors of children in the community where your child lives. Your contributions through this organization help provide care, food, water, shelter, clothing, medical supplies (where necessary), school fees and books associated with their education, and the necessities of life.
The primary impact Sedarvp Ghana child sponsorship has made is enabling poor kids from impoverished families to continue their education. The cost of sponsoring a child’s education can be overwhelming for impoverished families. Some of the families who are struggling economically are not in a position to cover all the school-related expenses. In such instances, without the support of a sponsor, the parents would not be able to pay school fees or purchase uniforms, etc. The added burden of uniforms, school supplies, etc. has made kids start school late or drop out of school completely. Child sponsors are not just charity providers, they have been an answer to prayer for many families – meeting a vital need and ensuring that kids are able to stay in school.
Sponsoring students has made it possible for impoverished young people to obtain a proper education. Education is a leading tool against some of the destructive paths young people sometimes turn to such as gang or rebel activity, and crime. By veering young people away from negative paths we help uplift entire communities.
