Social Education Development and Rural Volunteers Programme (SEDARVP-Ghana) on Wednesday, 3rd August, 2022, held an intercultural integration programme at the Youth Engagement Center in Tamale. The programme is under the CIYouth project which is Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and other international partner organizations.
The theme of the program was “Intercultural Approach to Youth Development and Societal Growth”. The CIYouth Project focuses on promoting interculturality among youth workers and or citizens at workplaces in order to ensure productivity, social and national development. The project also challenges youth to work cohesively and peacefully in an environment regardless of their cultural background, to promote societal growth.
The speakers admonished young people to see each other as a family, regardless of their cultural background. They added that the youth should cherish their cultural identity and always have pride in their ethnic groups, but also learn to accept and see each other as one, as this would promote peaceful coexistence among citizens (youth) and national development as a whole.
The participants comprised of one of the melodious Poet in Tamale, ABDL the POET, two Interns from the University for Development Studies that is Ms. Alhassan Shakira, Ms.Abdul Nasir Makbulatu and youth workers from other organizations and institutions.
The programme is under the CIYOUTH Project and in partnership with Sedarvp Ghana, Asonedh, Beecom, CEP, and D’ALLEURS & D’ANTTLLES, and it is Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
