SEDARVP-GHANA an NGO in Ghana on the 24/07/21 held a workshop at the Tamale Technical University on its smock project under the Youth Social Entrepreneurship Education for All with Moodle (YSEEAM).
The program brought together the Executive Director of SEDARVP-GHANA, Mr. Abukari Shaibu Niendow Director of Research, Mr. Alhassan Rabiu, volunteers and 25 participants from various social and organizational background.
The Director of Research at SEDARVP- GHANA, Mr. Alhassan Rabiu in presenting the smock project under the YSEEAM, underscored the development challenge that unemployment presents in developing countries and the changing social trends, especially with the digital revolution and the opportunities that it presents that needs to be maximized to help address the challenges of unemployment in Ghana and elsewhere.
The smock project, Mr Alhassan Rabiu said is aimed at identifying the youth and providing them the opportunity to learn the skill of smock making for a period of 6-12months and would be given a start-up capital, equipment and support at the end of their training to help them start their own smocking making centres to produce smocks for both local and international markets.
The participants as part of the program were given the opportunity to brainstorm on how to enhance the project and were given certificates of participation at the end of the program.
