Sedarvp-Ghana has been formally granted Special Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The granting of the Consultative Status to Sedarvp-Ghana followed ECOSOC’s adoption of the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) at its Coordination and management meeting of 21st July, 2021. This was announced in a letter addressed to Sedarvp-Ghana on September 30, 2021.
Attaining the UN ECOSOC Consultative Status enables Sedarvp-Ghana to engage in a number of ways with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, the Human Rights Council, and, under specific conditions, some meetings of the General Assembly and other intergovernmental bodies, as well as with the United Nations Secretariat.
This recognition and by granting of this status, Sedarvp-Ghana is also entitled to designate official representatives to the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the United Nations Offices in Geneva and Vienna.
Organizations in Special Consultative Status are able to submit written statements relevant to the work of the Council on subjects in which these organizations have a special competence.
SEDARVP-Ghana is a Youth Focused Organization setup to create supportive platforms to challenge youth creativity in the areas of Human Rights and education, social change, volunteerism and rural development. The organization is committed to making available critical information and resources needed for total development of the Youth of Ghana and beyond especially in the rural areas with regards to human rights education.
Sedarvp-Ghana’s mission therefore is to empower the youth, women, and children through quality education, social justice, sustainable community participation and international partnerships for the betterment of humanity.
Sedarvp-Ghana as a non-governmental organization also aims at promoting good and quality education in all the rural and remote communities in Ghana through volunteers support.
For the communities being served, SEDARVP – Ghana aspires to enhance and empower the lives of mankind through various social, civil and developmental efforts to result in a positive and promising global economic future.
Sedarvp-Ghana in a statement signed by its executive director, Abukari Neindow, the organization expressed his gratitude to the United Nations for this recognition.
The organisation assured of their resolve to partner with the UN and other partners to advance and influence policies, Human programmes and activities towards the creation of a better world for all.
