Open your mind and change your life with Erasmus Plus

A week ago today, Sedarvp-Ghana in collaboration with their Greek  partners, implemented the Ghana edition of the WE AfriHug 2019 project in Tamale with an Erasmus+ training seminar for 40 Youth workers from various Civil Society Organizations within Tamale. These youth workers were trained on Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees, EU platforms, Tips & tricks on submitting good proposals, Project management, Pitching and Stakeholders’ communication.

The training took place at the premises of Youth Empowerment for Life and attracted a lot of individuals, youth workers and organizations in Tamale.

The four-day training programme started on May 8th, 2019 and ended on May 11th, 2019 which was climaxed with participants being awarded with certificates.

WE AfriHug started last year as a voluntary project that took place in 6 African countries (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Togo, Ghana, and Western Sahara) from January 1st until July 31st 2018. Five passionate volunteers from Greece, Italy and Cyprus join forces and travel to the Eastern and Western part of Africa.

 The aim of the project is to empower Youth in African local communities through education, to promote European and international understanding through the Erasmus+ programme and to foster the development of a shared sense of European identity.

The second phase of the project was launched a few months ago and the team has so far done training workshops in Universities and organizations in Uganda, Nigeria and now Ghana.

The training modules for the four-day training workshop was led by the co-founder Marilena Maragkou and Project Coordinator of We AfriHug, Konstantinos Maragkos. Supported by the country representative of the Erasmus Mundos Alumni Association Alberta Ama and two amazing volunteers from  Greece, namely ;  Ms.Alexandra Stellaki and Mr. Ladeas Ioannis.

In the end, participants expressed a lot of appreciation for the opportunity to learn these skills and learn about various opportunities.  Founder and Executive director of SEDARVP-GHANAMr. Abukari Shaibu Niendow, during an Interview with Ghana360 News express his satisfaction for the turn and thank WE AfriHug and all participants.
