Goodlife Africa has partnered with SEDARVP Ghana and Self Solutions Ghana to sensitize some communities in the Kumbungu District on the outbreak of Covid-19. Dubbed “AWARENESS CREATION ON COVID-19“, the door-to-door sensitization exercise sought to enlighten the people of Bihi Nayili and Bong Nayili on the basic preventive measures against Covid-19.
Even though the president directive on social distancing was adhered to, there was the need to sacrifice and go out there to communities who in one way or the other lack necessary education on the virus. Therefore all the necessary preventive measures were adhered to.
The people were further entreated to quarantine strangers and even natives who might be coming or returning from the affected areas upon arrival. Ghana Health Service’s dedicated numbers for the Covid-19 emergency response were given to the Chief and the Assembly Member of the area to enable them reach out to the health authorities for swift response should they suspect any case.
The Chief and the elders of the communities promised to take the advice from Ghana Health Service and the Government Directives seriously and consequently threw their weight behind the ban of all social gatherings in the community until further notice.
Questions that came from our brothers and sisters , fathers and mothers in this communities was ” We don’t have tabs, how then do we wash our hands with running water”. We demonstrated to them that you don’t need to have tabs to be able to wash your hands with running water. Join hands so that we can reach out to many communities. #VOLUNTEERS_FOR_A_BETTER_WORLD #SEDARVP_GHANA. A WORLD IN PROGRESS.
